Busy, Busy Week

This week has gone by so stinking fast (thank goodness). There has been a lot of really exciting things going on around campus though so that's probably what made it go by so quickly. First of all, Sunday, November 15th, was Midnight Madness here on campus. Midnight Madness is the week before basketball season begins. It's a chance for all the students to go out and meet and greet and show their support for our teams. There are a lot of games, prizes, and food so it's a great time. Also, they throw out t-shirts, which is enough reason to go anywhere if you ask me. I went with my roommate and neighbors and met up with a couple of guys that we hang out with. Downside of Midnight Madness is that if you aren't there like 30 minutes before it starts, you'll be in a really long line to get it. Thankfully, we got there at just the right time and the line wasn't too bad. Johnny got picked to participate in one of the basketball challenge games and he had to shoot three pointers against a basketball player. Needless to say, Johnny ended up losing to him but it was really fun to watch. The cheerleaders and dance team also get to showcase themselves to the crowd. I really hope this year our basketball teams do well. Last year, we did really good so let's hope we can do even better this year. :)

Yesterday, Wednesday, November 18th, was registering day for students of sophomore status. Each "grade" level has their specific day to register for classes with seniors going first. Registering starts at 7:00 a.m. on the dot no matter what day you register. (NO FUN) I knew which classes I would be taking in the spring a few weeks back so I was ready for that part. The night before, though, I was checking the availability of my classes and a class I needed only had 3 openings. I was so worried I wouldn't be able to register for it. Thankfully, miraculously, I was one of the three that was able to register for that class. All of the other classes I registered for were relatively easy to do. It only takes a few minutes to do so, like any smart person would, I fell back asleep for about an hour before classes.

Again on Wednesday, boy that was a busy day, I was told about an event in Lima that was a fundraiser for children services. Basically what it was was that you went to Buffalo Wild Wings (or BW3's or BDubs) and ate. Awesome right? On Monday and Wednesday nights, people can hold fundraisers at BW3's in which 15% of all profits made can go to a fundraiser of your choice. This one in particular went to help child services raise money to help them pass a levy that's coming in the spring. I'm a social worker so of course I wanted to go. Also, I invited my parents to come with me. Good things about this night: free food (Mom and Dad paid), seeing my parents, helping a good cause, better food than Marbeck could EVER make. Also, something mildly funny about this trip was that we had to prove that we went somehow. I decided to have my mother take a picture of me (see picture above) with my boneless wings to prove it to her. I still have leftovers if she still doesn't believe me! :)
